I haven't been regularly checking in here so I wanted to let you know where else you can find me.

It's been a while. I've been much more active on my blog, so if you really want to keep up with my day-to-day antics, you can find the link on my page.

My hand if finally free again. Being one-handed (especially when that hand is your left, and you are right-handed) is not fun. But I was able to ride well enough. I even rode both horses bareback—and the day I got my cast off, I actually fell off Molly. Whoops. I didn't land on my hand though! Just my head... That was October 5th, which also happened to be 5 years since I first met Destiny. We celebrated intensely. Well, not really. I just gave her apples and took some pictures.

The horses are back at Molly's place now. We rode them over this morning. I'm going to miss them, but they will probably be back before Christmas. And it's October; I love October. The leaves change colour, and Destiny always seems so much quieter (and definitely fluffier!) in the fall. I'm looking forward to some good riding on the trails, and maybe I'll bring over some temporary fencing so I can make a round pen type area to work Destiny in.

I've definitely been very hyper this last week. I've been reading a lot, working on my blog and youtube, and spending lots of time with the horses. I am just very extremely happy right now.

The scaphoid bone in my wrist is broken. I'll have this splint/half-cast thing for 3 more weeks, but thankfully, they didn't have to do a full cast because this one is holding up well. That means I can still take it off to shower--as long as I don't use my right hand. Maybe I should stop squirting shampoo bottles and twisting doorknobs with it now...

It's not stopping me from riding though. I rode Destiny home on Tuesday (2 days before finding out my verdict), so she and Molly are happily grazing away in my back yard now. For my job, I need to get a picture of me reading a book to Desi...hmm...

Also, I've been hanging out with a friend I never get to see for the last week. She's staying at my place for 2 weeks (one more) while working nearby. That's why I've had less time to check in here lately--well, that, and the fact that my hand is broken...and I've been suffering through a terrible cold that left me dizzy and exhausted for a few days while I still had to work.

Well, my hand might be broken. Yesterday I was four wheeling and hit a rut. Lost control for a moment; bounced around a bit and the handlebar must have hit my hand because it was very sore afterward. I drove for another 3 hours or so, but steering wasn't easy. When I got home, things got worse and my wrist started to swell up badly. Went to the hospital, got X-rays. There were no obvious breaks, but this particular bone may not show up right away and it's important. So, for the meantime, I'm in a cast and in quite a bit of pain. Going back in 10 days for a re-check and, if it is broken, something more permanent. I really hope it isn't broken. I just can't deal with that right now...there's too much going on. And how am I going to ride!? I was hoping to bring the horses home this week. I still want to, but somehow I'm going to have to figure out how to ride a horse--who doesn't neckrein--with one hand.

It's my right hand too. Writing is virtually impossible. Typing isn't, but it's not easy, and very slow. Not to mention my left arm is sore from using it so much. I had to steer almost entirely with that arm toward the end of the trip, and my bike doesn't have power steering. Good thing my car isn't a stick shift...
